The Ikat Baby Doll Dress is made from a limited-edition cotton and silk Ikat hand loomed in Uzbekistan. Its umpire waist and off the shoulder sleeves compliment the short baby doll cut. Uzbek Ikat uses a technique, abrandi, "bounded cloud". It is a process of resist dyeing, bounding the warp yarns, which later dyed by hand, before being woven with the weft yards. Wearing Ikat fabric was once equivalent to wearing gold medals, its artistry was recognized with prestige.
